You've completed Level I. It's time to dive deeper into your equity work. Level II builds on your foundational equity work by deepening your understanding of systemic and structural racism in schools. Participants explore the roles of actor, ally, accomplice, and co-conspirator in equity work, examine the school-to-prison pipeline, and analyze historical practices such as redlining and resegregation. The curriculum guides educators through equitable best practices, courageous conversations, and stakeholder engagement strategies. Participants identify equity team members and community partners, conduct opportunity audits, and develop a concrete action plan for advancing racial and social justice within their schools and districts. Designed by a diverse group of public-school educators, this research grounded course provides teachers and educational support professionals across the career continuum new ideas and considerations for classroom management. Whether you’re an aspiring educator, an early career educator or a seasoned veteran, you will find the content engaging and immediately applicable to your practice. Modules include: setting expectations, strategies and tools for management, culturally responsive practices, connecting and building relationships, and strategies and tools for specific circumstances (e.g. trauma response, de-escalation, or increasing active engagement). This course meets virtually July 13-16, 2026 from 9-11 a.m. Creating LGBTQ+ Inclusive Schools focuses on understanding LGBTQ+ youth and families served in public schools with an end goal of creating supportive and welcoming schools for all children. Educators with any level of experience are invited to to bring an open mind and learn about how we can make school a safe and welcoming place for our LGBTQ+ students. We will start by creating a safe space with a day of "LGBTQ+ 101" where educators will learn vocabulary and are invited to ask questions in a judgement free zone. The course then moves on to review district policies and procedures, discuss current events, and brainstorm strategies for taking action. Culturally Responsive Teaching will deepen your own cultural self-awareness and increase your understanding of the link between cultural self-awareness and cultural competence. Additionally, participants will learn and practice culturally responsive teaching practices and share strategies for promoting culturally responsive instruction. This is an independent study course allowing you to work through the modules at your own pace. Read more
