Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: May 2026

1. Acceptance of Agreement

By enrolling in a WEA Academy course, clicking "I Agree," or otherwise accessing WEA Academy's online Learning Management System (LMS), you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement. This agreement, together with any referenced policies (including our Privacy Policy), constitutes the complete agreement between The WEA Academy and you with respect to the subject matter herein and supersedes all prior discussions, representations, or understandings.

WEA Academy reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time. You will be notified of material changes via email or a notice on the WEA Academy website. Continued use of WEA Academy's services following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Cancellation Policy

Due to fees incurred from payment processing, an $18.00 cancellation fee will be assessed for any WEA Academy course cancelled within 10 calendar days of the registration confirmation date. No refund of course fees will be granted after 10 calendar days from the registration confirmation date.

Any refund of graduate credit costs paid to an affiliated university will be solely at the discretion of that university, and WEA Academy bears no responsibility for those fees.

If WEA Academy cancels a course for any reason, enrolled participants will receive a full refund of all fees paid to WEA Academy for that course. WEA Academy will notify affected participants as promptly as possible.

Requests for exceptions to the cancellation policy due to extenuating circumstances (such as documented medical emergencies or technical failures attributable to WEA Academy) may be submitted in writing to WEA Academy administration and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

3. Copyright & Intellectual Property

The content, organization, graphics, design, course materials, videos, forum content, and all other materials related to the WEA Academy website, online courses, or Learning Management System are protected under applicable copyrights, intellectual property laws, and other proprietary laws. Unauthorized copying, reproduction, modification, publication, distribution, or commercial use of any such materials, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited without express prior written permission from the WEA Academy.

Limited Use for Students: Students are permitted to access and use WEA Academy course materials solely for their own personal educational purposes within the enrolled course. This limited license does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, or share course materials with others.

4. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WEA Academy, its officers, affiliates, contractors, and employees from and against any and all liability, loss, damages, claims, or expenses — including reasonable attorney fees — arising from or related to: (a) your violation of any term of this agreement, or (b) claims by third parties resulting from your violation of its terms and conditions.

5. Limitation of Liability

WEA Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, WEA Academy's services, including but not limited to course unavailability, technical errors, or data loss. WEA Academy's total liability to you for any claim arising under this agreement shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for the affected course.

6. Academic Integrity & Plagiarism

WEA Academy maintains high academic standards and requires that all work submitted to instructors — including assignments, projects, reports, papers, online forum posts, examinations, and any other coursework — represent the student's own original work.

Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. For purposes of this agreement, plagiarism includes, but is not limited to: submitting another person's work as your own, improper or missing citation of sources, and self-plagiarism (resubmitting previously submitted work without instructor approval).

Regarding artificial intelligence (AI): WEA Academy recognizes that AI tools are an evolving part of the educational landscape, and students are encouraged to develop familiarity with AI as a supplementary research and brainstorming aid, provided its use is transparent and does not replace the student's own original thinking and analysis. Submitting AI-generated content as your own work — without explicit prior instructor approval and proper attribution — constitutes academic dishonesty and will be treated as plagiarism under this policy. Students are encouraged to consult their instructor at the outset of any course for specific guidance on the appropriate and ethical use of AI tools within that course's requirements.

Students suspected of plagiarism will be notified in writing and provided an opportunity to respond before any final determination is made. Confirmed plagiarism may result in expulsion from the WEA Academy course and forfeiture of all fees paid for that course.

7. Privacy & Data Use

WEA Academy collects and uses personal information provided during registration and course participation in accordance with applicable privacy laws. This information is used solely to administer your enrollment, communicate course-related information, and improve our services. WEA Academy does not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to deliver course services (e.g., affiliated universities for graduate credit) or as required by law. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy available on the WEA Academy website.

8. Technical Requirements & Access

Access to WEA Academy's online courses requires a reliable internet connection and a compatible web browser. WEA Academy is not responsible for access issues arising from a student's own hardware, software, or internet connectivity. Students experiencing technical issues attributable to the WEA Academy platform should contact support promptly.

9. Accessibility

WEA Academy is committed to providing accessible online learning experiences in accordance with applicable accessibility standards, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Students requiring accommodations should contact WEA Academy administration prior to or at the start of enrollment so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [State], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under or related to this agreement that cannot be resolved informally shall first be submitted to non-binding mediation before either party pursues other legal remedies. Nothing herein shall prevent either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
